Vehicle Impounded Following Traffic Stop in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), April 19, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) impounded a vehicle following a traffic stop in St. John’s yesterday.

On Monday April 18, 2022, at approximately 10:50 pm, RNC OPS conducted a traffic safety stop in the area of Prescott Street in St. John’s after observing a traffic violation at the intersection with Duckworth Street. The officer determined the operator of the vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license, and was operating the vehicle without an insurance policy.

As a result of the traffic stop, the 21-year-old male from St. John’s operating the vehicle was issued summary offence tickets for passing a red light, operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license, and operating a vehicle without an insurance policy. The vehicle was impounded as a result of the Highway Traffic Act violations.
