UPDATE – RNC Continuing to Investigate Armed Bank Robbery

(St. John’s, NL), May 12, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is continuing to  seek the public’s assistance identifying the man responsible for an armed robbery at a finical institution.

On Friday, March 31, 2017, at approximately 1:40 pm officers with RNC Patrol Services Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Public Service Credit Union on Empire Ave in St. John’s. A lone male entered the bank armed with a weapon and demanded cash. Nobody was injured during this robbery.

The man fled on foot before police arrived with quantity Canadian and various foreign currencies. The man is described as being between 5’8” – 6’2” in height with an average build and in his mid-20’s to early-30’s. At the time of the robbery he was wearing dark pants and a plaid jacket with a backpack and had his face concealed.
