UPDATE: RNC Continue Search for Missing Person – Cortney LAKE (24 Years Old)

(St. John’s, NL), June 16, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is continuing to seek the assistance of the general public in locating missing person Cortney LAKE.

LAKE was last seen in St. John’s on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. She is described as being 5’8” and 110-120lbs with light brown hair. LAKE was last seen wearing a grey hooded parka with a pink hoody (or liner) and pink and white plaid shirt and black pants and glasses. Video stills obtained from Esso on Elizabeth Ave in St. John’s show LAKE hours before she went missing. This is the last known visual police have of her.

Investigators with RNC’s Major Crime Unit believe the circumstances around Cortney LAKE’s disappearance to be suspicious in nature.  We have serious concerns for LAKE at this point in this investigation and are urging the public to come forward with any information they may have. The RNC has also been releasing information to the public on social media using the hashtag #HelpFindCortney and ask the public to continue sharing our posts.

Investigators have conducted several ground searches in the area of Powers Pond in Mount Pearl, the Seal Cove area and Galway. We would like to thank the ROVERS and Fire and Emergency Services for their assistance to date. We have also received numerous calls and tips from the public and encourage anybody who has any information on Cortney LAKE’s to contact us immediately.
