(St. John’s, NL), December 5, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigative Unit has arrested Wanted Person – Robert KING in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on October 10, 2018.

On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, just before 4:00 pm, officers with RNC Operational Patrol Services Division, Forensic Identification Services, Criminal Investigation Division, and Police Dog Services responded to Lawton’s Drugs on the CBS Highway in Conception Bay South. A lone male, armed with a weapon, entered the pharmacy and demanded prescription drugs. The man fled the area prior to police arrival with an undisclosed quantity of opioids, stimulants such as fentanyl patches, and other various prescription narcotics.

Investigators identified Robert KING (1988-07-07) as the man responsible for this robbery. On October 15, 2018, the RNC issued a media release in relation to this investigation. Since that time, a number of tips were received and yesterday afternoon, KING was arrested without incident at a home in the east end of St. John’s. KING was also charged in connection with a second armed robbery at the same location that occurred on November 20, 2018 at around 4:00 pm.

Robert KING was held at the City Lockup and will appear at Provincial Court in St. John’s today facing a number of charges relating to both armed robberies. The RNC would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in both investigations.
