UPDATE – Man Wanted in Connection with Attempted Armed Vehicle Robbery

(St. John’s, NL), November 10, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Major Crime Unit is investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon in St. John’s.

Yesterday afternoon, just after 1:00 pm, officers with RNC Patrol Services Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Police Dog Services, and Forensic Investigation Services responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery of a woman’s vehicle in a parking garage at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. The male was armed with an undisclosed weapon and fortunately the 33 year old woman was not injured. The man was not successful at taking control of the woman’s vehicle and fled the area prior to police arriving.

31 year old Carl EARLE (1986-Oct-16) is wanted in connection with this incident. We believe that EARLE may be in the Conception Bay North area. We are urging the public not to approach EARLE and to call RNC or RCMP immediately if they have any information on his whereabouts.

The investigation to this incident is ongoing and investigators are interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed this incident.
