RNC Warning Community of Dangerous Substances Stolen

(St. John’s, NL), March 8, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) are investigating a break and enter which occurred at a Pharmacy in Torbay.

On Friday morning, March 5, 2021, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a pharmacy on Torbay Road in Torbay after a report that a break and enter had occurred. Investigators believe the incident occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021. Images of two suspects were captured on CCTV footage inside the business. Investigators believe a third suspect waited outside the building.

Investigators are informing the community of dangerous substances, which were stolen form the pharmacy as result of this incident. Two substances of note are Methadone Mixture and Fentanyl patches. These substances pose a significant safety concern, and the RNC cautions illicit drug users of the presence of these substances in the community, as ingestion can cause serious injury or death.
