RNC Traffic Stops Yield Arrest and Seized Vehicles

(St. John’s, NL), October 27, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) seized two vehicles and made an arrest following multiple traffic stops yesterday.

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) conducted traffic safety stops throughout the city of St. John’s. The officers located two vehicles being operated without an insurance policy, as well as a vehicle being operated by a person with an arrest warrant in effect.

As a result of these events, officers seized two vehicles and issued tickets in connection with the Highway Traffic Act non-compliance. In addition, a 37-year-old female was charged with public mischief and failure to comply with court orders. She was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court in relation to a warrant for her arrest.
