RNC Traffic Stop Results in Charge and Vehicle Impound

(St. John’s, NL), August 13, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) arrested a man overnight on an impaired driving related charge.

Shortly after midnight on August 13, 2021, RNC OPS conducted a traffic stop on Pitts Memorial Drive in St. John’s, at which time the officer communicated with the operator of the vehicle. As a result, the patrol services officer made observations which developed suspicion of impaired driving.

As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old man from Conception Bay South was charged with failure to provide a breath sample, and the vehicle was impounded. The man was released to appear in Provincial Court on a later date.
