RNC Track Down Suspect of Downtown Robbery

(ST. JOHN’S, NL), December 1, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services arrested a male following a robbery in the downtown area of the St. John’s yesterday evening.

On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at approximately 8:55 pm, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a business in the downtown area of St. John’s.

On arrival, officers were informed that a male had entered the business, proceeding to make threats while demanding cash. The male exited the store and fled the area without obtaining any cash. Responding officers were able to locate the male suspect in the area a short time later, placing him under arrest without incident.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 45-year-old male from St. John’s was charged with robbery and property damage. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court on the matter.
