(Corner Brook, NL), August 24, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) in Corner Brook executed a traffic stop after observing a vehicle travelling at a high speed.

On Monday, August 23, 2021, at approximately 7:30 pm, the RNC OPS in the Corner Brook region observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Lewin Parkway. The patrol officer used radar to capture the speed of the vehicle to be 105 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. The officer effected a traffic stop with the vehicle a short time later.

The Patrol officer issued the 19-year-old operator of the vehicle a summary offence ticket for travelling 45 km/h over the speed limit. The RNC remains focused on ending aggressive driving behaviours in our communities.
