RNC Seize Uninsured Vehicle in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), May 17, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services seized a vehicle following a traffic safety stop in Portugal Cove-St. Phillips (PCSP) yesterday.

On Monday, May 16, 2022, at approximately 3:20 pm, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) conducted a traffic safety stop with a vehicle in the area of Bennett’s Road in PCSP. The officer determined the vehicle was being operated without a valid insurance policy. In addition the, operator did not hold a valid driver’s license, and the vehicle was unregistered.

As a result of the investigation, the 37-year-old male operator of the vehicle was issued summary offence tickets in connection with the Highway Traffic Act infractions. The vehicle was seized and impounded from the scene.
