(St. John’s, NL), October 14, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) are seeking assistance with locating wanted person, Gerald Kyle HYNES of St. John’s.

On October 11, 2022, at approximately 9:10 pm, the RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Sebastian Court in St. John’s. On arrival, officers observed wanted person, 30-year-old Gerald Kyle Hynes, attempting to flee from a property in the area. A patrol officer intervened, advising HYNES he was under arrest. The patrol officer was assaulted by HYNES, who then fled the area. The officer sustained non-life threatening physical injury as a result of the assault.

In addition to outstanding arrest warrants, HYNES is now wanted in relation to charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and court order breaches. Investigators are seeking assistance from the community with locating HYNES. If HYNES is seen in the community, please contact the RNC immediately and do not approach the individual.
