RNC Seek Public Assistance in Robbery Investigation

(St. John’s, NL), February 27, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Major Crime Unit is seeking the assistance of the public in a robbery investigation.

On Monday, February 19, 2018 at approximately 10:30 pm the RNC responded to a robbery at the intersection of Penneywell Road and Boncloddy Street in St. John’s. The male victim, a 22-year-old resident of St. John’s, reported that he had been robbed by two males who were unknown to him. An edged weapon was used during the robbery; however the victim was not injured. The suspects fled the area with a quantity of cash and some other possessions belonging to the victim. Officers with RNC Operational Patrol Services Division and Police Dog Services searched the area for the suspects but did not locate them.

The first suspect is approximately 22 years old, 5’11”, with red curly hair, a slim build and acne on his cheeks and below his eyes. This male was wearing a grey jacket with orange trim and a zipper on the hood. The second suspect is between 18 and 20 years old, 6’2” and had a slim build. He was wearing a grey and black jacket.

The RNC is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying these males.
