RNC Searching for Suspect of Armed Robbery

(St. John’s, NL), March 9, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) are investigating an armed robbery, which occurred over the weekend in the capital city.

Just before 8:30 am on Saturday, March 6, 2021, RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a service station on Elizabeth Avenue in St. John’s following reports of a robbery at the business. A man entered the store and approached the cashier counter, proceeding to present a weapon and demand cash and cigarettes. The man exited the store after obtaining cash and cigarettes, then fled the area operating a vehicle, travelling North on Torbay Road.

The suspect is a man, described to be about five feet and four inches tall with a skinny build. He has dark hair and facial hair. The vehicle operated by the suspect is a recent model four door Honda Civic, silver in colour, with black winter rims. There was no license plate attached to the vehicle at the time of the incident.
