RNC Respond to House Fire in Labrador City

(Labrador City, NL), May 10, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) responded to a house fire on Saturday, which displaced a family in Labrador City.

On Saturday, May 7, 2022, at approximately 6:45 pm, the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a report of a house fire on Cavendish Crescent in Labrador City. On arrival, officers observed fire departments from Labrador City and Wabush acting quickly to control the blaze from a home that was completely engulfed in flames. The occupants were able to leave the home safely, however, two family pets were not able to be found. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The RNC expresses its recognition of the prompt response and scene control by Labrador City Fire Department and Wabush Fire Department, and send its gratitude to the local Salvation Army for their unwavering support of the displaced family. The RNC would like to remind our communities to exercise caution should you come upon a scene involving emergency responders, so as to avoid delay of services or personal injury, and also extend appreciation for cooperation at such events.
