RNC Respond to Downtown Disturbance

(St. John’s, NL), August 10, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) made an arrest after responding to a disturbance in downtown St. John’s today.

On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, just after 9:00 am, The RNC OPS responded to a report of an ongoing disturbance at an apartment complex in downtown St. John’s. On arrival, responding officers spoke with a woman who had visible injuries. A man who was believed to have been in the apartment had left the area. Officers with RNC OPS located the man believed to be involved in the disturbance a short distance from the apartment complex.

As a result of an investigation, the 39-year-old man from St. John’s has been charged with assault and breach of court order. He was released to appear in court on a later date.
