RNC Requesting Assistance of Community After Sudden Death

(St. John’s, NL), June 3, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is requesting the assistance of the community after a deceased man was located near a trail system in the capital city’s west end.

On Sunday, May 30, 2021, at approximately 8:30 pm, officers with RNC’s Operational Patrol Services (OPS), Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and Criminal investigation Division (CID) responded to the Waterford Valley area of St. John’s after a deceased man was located in the area near the trail system. Investigators believe the death to be suspicious in nature, and will be working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

Investigators are requesting that members of the community consider whether they have dash camera footage in the area of Waterford Bridge Road, between Cowan Avenue and Bay Bulls Road, on Sunday, May 30, 2021, between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm in the afternoon.
