RNC Request Assistance in Robbery Investigation

(St. John’s, NL), September 25, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store in St. John’s.

This morning, just before 6:00 am, officers with RNC’s Operational Patrol Services, Police Dog Services, and Forensic Identification Services responded to a report of an armed robbery at Ultramar at 172 Freshwater Road. A man, described as being approximately 6’0” tall with blue eyes and wearing a black hoodie and a blue jays hat and light coloured jogging pants, entered the business armed with an undisclosed weapon and demanded cash.

There were no injuries in the commission of this offence and the man fled the area on foot prior to police arrival with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate this armed robbery, and is asking anyone who has information to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
