RNC Release Video of Robbery Suspect

(St. John’s, NL), April 5, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Investigation Division is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the man responsible for an armed robbery in St. John’s.

On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, just before 10:30 pm, officers with the RNC’s Operational Patrol Services Division, Police Dog Services, and Forensic Identification Services responded to an armed robbery at an ATM located inside TD Bank on Water Street. A woman, who was using the ATM at the time, reported that a man approached her with a weapon and stole an undisclosed quantity of cash and personal belongings. The woman was not injured as a result of the incident, and the man fled on foot prior to police arrival.

The suspect, a man believed to be in his sixties, is described as 5’5” tall, with grey hair and glasses. At the time of the offence the man was believed to be wearing hiking style boots, blue jeans, and a dark sweater with a pattern.
