RNC Release Video in Mischief Investigation

(St. John’s, NL), March 1, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services Division is investigating a complaint of mischief in the east end of St. John’s.

On Thursday, February 22, 2018 at approximately 10:30pm, officers with RNC’s Operational Patrol Services division were called to a home on Savanah Park Drive in St. John’s to a report that several individuals had just used bats to smash all the windows out of a car in the complainant’s driveway.

The incident was captured on a CCTV camera which shows two individuals get out of a truck, (described by witnesses as dark with a truck cap) smash the windows out of the parked vehicle, and get back into the truck and speed off. There appeared to be at least three people in total in the truck including the driver, who did not get out.

This was the second such incident at this address where damage to a vehicle had occurred. Sometime overnight on February 14, 2018 two vehicles were damaged in a similar fashion belonging to the same complainant.

Patrol officers are continuing to investigating these incidents and are asking anyone who has information to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can now provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers Website at: www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
