RNC Release Photos of Armed Robbery Suspect

(St. John’s, NL), September 11, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a woman believed to be responsible for an armed robbery at a commercial business in St. John’s.

On Monday, September 4, 2017 at approximately 7:20 pm, officers with RNC’s Patrol Services Division along with Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services responded to an armed robbery call at Needs Convenience on Brookfield Road. Staff reported that a lone female entered the store brandishing a weapon and demanded cash and cigarettes. The woman fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of both cash and cigarettes prior to police arrival.

The woman is described as being approximately 5’5” and in her 20’s with a stocky build and at the time of the offence was wearing a black coat, black bowler hat, and baggy grey jogging pants.

The RNC General Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate this armed robbery and is   asking anyone who has information to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
