RNC Quickly Apprehends Impaired Driver

(Corner Brook, NL) August 14, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a woman with impaired driving following a hit-and-run in Corner Brook.

Shortly after 11 p.m. yesterday (August 13), the RNC received a report of an impaired driver who had been involved in a hit-and-run. A member of the public was able to provide a vehicle description, license plate, and direction of travel, which allowed Operational Patrol Services members to quickly locate the vehicle.

The 21-year-old female driver was charged with impaired driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. She is also facing charges for having open liquor in the vehicle and having cannabis readily available in the vehicle. The woman had her license suspended and vehicle seized. The accused will appear in court at a later date.
