RNC Quickly Apprehends Driver of Hit-and-Run

(St. John’s, NL) June 13, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has arrested a 46-year-old man following a collision in St. John’s.

Just after 10:15 a.m. today, Operational Patrol Services responded to a collision on Pennywell Road near the intersection of Franklyn Avenue where a vehicle had struck a parked vehicle and hit a pole, narrowly missing a home. The driver fled on foot but with the assistance of Police Dog Services was located nearby with visible injuries and arrested.

The driver is facing charges of; operating a vehicle while prohibited, hit-and-run, breach of probation, driving without insurance, and driving without a driver’s license. The investigation is ongoing.
