RNC Promoting Cautious Driving in Labrador West

(Labrador City, NL), February 24, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) are advising the community to drive to the current winter road conditions in the Labrador West region.

In recent weeks, the RNC in Labrador West have received reports of traffic incidents which relate directly to poor driving behaviour based on the winter road conditions. Roads in the region are ice and snow covered, and require motor vehicle operators to adjust their behaviours to promote safe and courteous travel.

The RNC patrol services in Labrador West will be increasing patrols in school zones, and peak school travel times, in order to promote the operation of motor vehicles to the current winter driving conditions.

Anyone that observes driving behaviours which are unsafe for the current conditions, distracted driving, or aggressive driving behaviour is asked to contact the RNC to report the activity.

The RNC ask that anyone who may have information to assist contact the RNC at 944-7602 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers: #SayItHere 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), visit www.nlcrimestoppers.com or use the P3Tips app.
