RNC Make Impaired Driving Arrest in Labrador West

(Labrador City, NL), April 29, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest in connection with impaired driving in Labrador West yesterday.

On Thursday, April 28, 2022, at approximately 1:35 pm, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) conducted a traffic safety stop with a vehicle on the Trans Labrador Highway in Labrador City following a report of a possible impaired driver.

As a result of an investigation following the traffic stop, a 28-year-old male from Labrador City has been charged with impaired driving and refusal to provide a breath sample under the Criminal Code of Canada, as well as having open liquor in a motor vehicle under the Liquor Control Act. The accused was issued a driving suspension, and his vehicle was impounded from the scene. He was released from custody to appear in Provincial Court on a later date.
