RNC Make Arrests Related to Vehicle Theft

(St. John’s, NL), November 14, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has made a pair of arrests connected to a stolen vehicle in St. John’s.

On Sunday (Nov. 12) RNC patrol officers observed a stolen vehicle parked in the center city area of St. John’s. As the officers approached, two male occupants exited and walked towards a residence nearby. One of the occupants was arrested by patrol officers, while the other male made his way inside the home and then fled on foot from the rear of the property.

As a result of the investigation into the event, 33-year-old Justin HOLLIHAN of St. John’s, who was arrested at the scene, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime. He was released to appear in Provincial Court on a later date. The male that had fled the area was identified by officers as 38-year-old Craig POPE of St. John’s. A warrant of arrest was issued for POPE on charges of possession of property obtained by crime and breach of release order.

On Monday (Nov. 13), POPE was arrested in the area of Hoyles Avenue in St. John’s. He was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
