RNC Make Arrests Following Home Invasion

(ST. JOHN’S, NL) July 19, 2019 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have arrested two people in connection with a home invasion in St. John’s.

On Friday, July 19, 2019, shortly after 6:00 am, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services Division, Police Dog Service, Forensic Identification Services and Major Crime Unit responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence on Bay Bulls Road in St. John’s. Further information was received that a woman and a man, reportedly armed with a weapon, had gained entry to the residence. On arrival, officers were informed that the suspects had fled the residence on foot. A short time later, the suspects were located in the area of Bay Bulls Road, at which time they were placed under arrest without incident. All parties involved are believed to be known to each other.

As a result of the investigation in to this incident, a 39 year old man has been charged with robbery, break and enter with intent, assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, and court order breaches. Additionally, a 29 year old woman has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and break and enter with intent. They have been be held to appear in provincial court.
