(St. John’s, NL), July 19, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have made arrests in connection with an assault, which occurred in Torbay in late May of 2023.
On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 12:18 am, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) received a report that an altercation had just occurred at a field party in the area of Torbay Bypass Rd, Torbay. A 17-year-old male received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The RNC Criminal Investigation Division (CID) were engaged to investigate the event.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, three individuals have been charged in relation to the event;
An 18-year-old male has been charged with:
- Forcible Confinement
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Mischief with Property Damage
A 17-year-old male has been charged with:
- Forcible Confinement
- Sexual Assault
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Mischief with Property Damage
A 17-year-old male has been charged with:
- Forcible Confinement
- Sexual Assault
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Mischief with Property Damage
All accused individuals have been released to appear in Provincial Court on a later date.
