RNC Make Arrest in Relation to Sexual Violence in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), February 3, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Child Abuse and Sexual Assault (CASA) Unit made an arrest in connection with sexual violence in St. John’s.

On Thursday, October 28, 2021, the RNC received a report related to sexual violence, believed to have occurred in St. John’s from March to October of 2021. The RNC CASA Unit launched an investigation in to the report.

As a result of the investigation, on January 26, 2022, a 23-year-old male of St. John’s was arrested and charged with sexual assault. The accused was released on conditions to appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
