RNC Make Arrest For Driving Infractions

(St. John’s, NL), September 7, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) arrested a male in St. John’s on Highway Traffic Act offences.

On Monday, September 5, 2021, at approximately 8:00 pm, RNC OPS conducted a traffic safety stop on Empire Avenue in St. John’s. The patrol officer determined the operator was operating without a valid driver’s license, without an insurance policy and over $22,000.00 in outstanding fines. In addition, the operator failed to comply with the officer’s direction in the course of the traffic safety stop.

As a result of the investigation in to the event, the 38-year-old male operating the vehicle was placed under arrest in connection with the Highway Traffic Act offences, and his vehicle was impounded from the scene. The male was released to appear in court on a later date.
