RNC Make Arrest Following Suspicious Activity in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), May 25, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services made an arrest following a report of suspicious activity in St. John’s last night.

Shortly after midnight in to Wednesday, May 25, 2022, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a commercial parking lot in the downtown area of St. John’s following a report of a suspicious person in the area. On arrival, officers observed damage to multiple vehicles on the lot, and located a male inside one of the damaged vehicles. The male attempted to flee, but was placed under arrest by the officers.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 37-year-old male from St. John’s was charged with property damage, resisting arrest, and breach of court orders. In addition, officers confirmed there to be an outstanding warrant for his arrest.. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
