RNC Make Arrest Following Robbery in St. John’s Shopping Centre

(St. John’s, NL), October 19, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest following response to an armed robbery in a St. John’s shopping centre.

On Wednesday (Oct. 18) at 7:00 p.m., RNC patrol officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Avalon Mall in St. John’s. Officers were informed that a male had presented a weapon while fleeing a store with merchandise. Patrol officers initiated an investigation of the event.

Shortly after 10:00 p.m., patrol officers arrested a male in the downtown area of St. John’s. As a result of the investigation, the 33-year-old male from St. John’s was charged with armed robbery and held in custody to appear in Provincial Court in connection with the offence.
