RNC Make Arrest Following Response to an Assault in the Capital City

(St. John’s, NL), August 4, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest yesterday following a response to a report of an assault in St. John’s.

RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to the area of Military Road in St. John’s around 3:10 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023, following a report of a disturbance at a business. On arrival, officers located a male that had minor physical injury resulting from an assault. The person responsible had left the area on foot. Responding officers were able to locate the male suspect a short time later, taking the male into custody without incident.

As a result of an investigation into the event, a 45-year-old male from St. John’s was arrested and charged with assault and breach of court order. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court today.
