RNC Make Arrest Following Firearm Incident in CBS

(St. John’s, NL), December 7, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have taken into custody the subject in connection with a firearm incident that occurred yesterday in the town of Conception Bay South (CBS).

On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 10:45 am, RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) received a request for assistance at a residence on Pettens Rd, CBS. Patrol officers located an injured male outside the home. The male victim was taken to hospital for injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

At 12:20 pm officers located and arrested a 37-year-old male outside the residence. Multiple resources were deployed to the area in response to the incident, such as operational patrol services, police dog services, criminal investigation division as well as the tactics and rescue unit.

As a result of the investigation a 37-year-old, Justin JENNINGS from CBS has been charged and is held to appear before provincial court. JENNINGS has been charged with the following offences: Assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, choking, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a release order.

Members of the RNC Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Major Crime Unit (MCU) are investigating this incident and are seeking any information that may assist the investigation, including observed suspicious activity, dash camera footage or CCTV in the area.
