RNC Make Arrest Following Downtown Disturbance

(St. John’s, NL), October 29, 2020 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest in connection with a disturbance in the downtown area of the capital city on Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, around 9:00 pm, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a report of a disturbance in the downtown area of St. John’s. Subsequent to response, a 50-year-old woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injury.

Following a prompt investigation, officers arrested a 48-year-old man who was charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and breach of court order. He has been held to appear in provincial court.
