RNC Make Arrest Following Center City Disturbance

(St. John’s, NL), November 5, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Major Crime Unit (MCU) and Operational Patrol Services (OPS) made an arrest following a disturbance in the capital city last night.

On Thursday, November 4, 2021, at approximately 8:45 pm, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a disturbance in a residential area in the center city of St. John’s. Responding officers received information that a male had uttered threats to cause harm. Officers located the suspect at a residence in the area.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 45-year-old male from St. John’s was arrested and charged with uttering threats. Officers also confirmed an outstanding warrant of arrest in effect for the accused. The male was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court in connection with this event, as well as the warrant of arrest.
