RNC Make Arrest Following Center City Disturbance

(ST. JOHN’S, NL), December 1, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services arrested a male following a disturbance in the center of the capital yesterday.

On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at approximately 4:50 pm, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a disturbance at a convenience store in the center city area of St. John’s. Responding officers were informed that a male was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the establishment. On arrival, officers located the male involved.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 67-year-old male from St. John’s was placed under arrest and charged with causing a disturbance, harassing phone calls, and resisting arrest. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court on the matter.
