RNC Make Arrest Following Assault in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), August 10, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) made an arrest overnight following a disturbance in St. John’s.

On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, just after 3:00 am, The RNC OPS responded to a report of an ongoing disturbance at a residence in the city center of St. John’s. On arrival, responding officers located a woman who had sustained non-life threatening injuries. Officers also located a man believed to be involved in the disturbance.

As a result of an investigation, a 46-year-old man from St. John’s was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats. The man was held in custody to appear in provincial court.
