RNC Make Arrest Following Assault in Capital City

(St. John’s, NL), June 30, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services made an arrest following a report of an assault in St. John’s.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 29, 2022, the RNC received a report of an assault that had occurred in the downtown area of St. John’s. A 55-year-old male had sustained injuries resulting from an altercation with another male. RNC Operational Patrol Services launched an investigation in to the report. The officers located the male believed to be involved in the altercation at a residence in the downtown area of St. John’s.

As a result of an investigation of the event, a 50-year-old male from St. John’s was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
