RNC Make Arrest following a Break and Enter in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), December 28, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) make an arrest following a Break and Enter in Goulds, St. John’s.

On December 26, 2022, at about 11:00 a.m. RNC OPS located and arrested a male in connection with a break and enter in the Goulds.

On December 26, 2022, at about 10:50 a.m. RNC OPS were on scene in the area of Durdle Drive, Goulds following a request for assistance. While dealing with this matter an officer noted a black Honda Civic speeding toward police units in the residential area. The operator of the vehicle refused to stop for police, nearly striking a parked police unit. The operator then fled from police, driving East on Main Road, Goulds.

During this time the RNC received a report of a Break and Enter, which had just occurred, in the area Kieley Drive, Goulds. The suspect vehicle in this incident was a black Honda Civic.

Members of RNC OPS located the suspect vehicle minutes later in the area of Fourth Pond Road, Goulds, and arrested the male driver, 37-year-old John MARSH.

The subsequent investigation led to the recovery of items stolen during the break and enter reported in the area of Kieley Drive.

As a result of the investigation John MARSH has been charged with the following: Break and Enter, Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle, and Flight from Police. MARSH was held in custody to appear before a Judge in Provincial Court.
