RNC Make Arrest and Seize Vehicle in St. John’s

(St. John’s, NL), September 16, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) made an arrest and seized a vehicle in downtown St. John’s last night.

On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at approximately 11:00 pm, officers with the RNC OPS conducted a traffic safety stop in the area of Mount Pleasant Avenue in St. John’s after a vehicle was observed passing a red light.

As a result of the traffic stop, officers determined the operator of the vehicle, a 50-year-old male from St. John’s, was failing to comply with court orders. The 50-year-old male from St. John’s was placed under arrest in connection with the breach of court orders, and was issued summary offence tickets related to the Highway Traffic Act offences. The vehicle involved was seized and impounded from the scene. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
