RNC Make Arrest After Violent Home Invasion on West Coast

(Corner Brook, NL), October 21, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have made an arrest, and continue the investigation, following response to a home invasion in Corner Brook.

On Thursday, October 20, 2022, the RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a home invasion at a home on Carter Avenue in Corner Brook. Officers determined that two suspects gained entry to the residence, assaulted the male resident of the home, proceeding to flee the property with several valuable items. The male resident sustained minor injuries.

At approximately 9:20 pm, officers arrested a male in connection with the investigation following a traffic stop with a vehicle on West Street in Corner Brook. As a result of the investigation, the 38-year-old male form Corner Brook has been charged with break and enter, assault, forcible confinement, theft and breach of court order. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.

Investigators continue to seek information related to the second male suspect involved in the event. The RNC requests that anyone with information to assist, or any video footage in the area of Carter Avenue and surrounding area, please contact the RNC. This event is believed to be a targeted event.
