RNC Make Arrest After Disturbance in the Street

(Corner Brook, NL), September 7, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) in Corner Brook arrested a male following a disturbance on Broadway.

On Saturday, September 4, 2021, at approximately 1:45 am, RNC OPS responded to the area of Broadway in Corner Brook in relation to a disturbance in the street. On arrival, a male was observed initiating an altercation.

Responding officers advised the male suspect he was being arrested in connection with causing a disturbance. The male did not comply with the responding officers, assaulting an officer before fleeing on foot. The suspect was taken in to custody a short time later by patrol officers.

The patrol officer who was assaulted by the suspect was treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation in to the event, a 31-year-old male from Corner Brook was charged with causing a disturbance, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
