RNC Make an Arrest Following Disturbance in Capital City

(St. John’s, NL), March 22, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have arrested a youth following a disturbance at a residence in St. John’s.

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at approximately 4:45pm, the RNC Operational Patrol Services Division (OPS) responded to a report of a disturbance in progress at a residence located in the west end of St. John’s. On arrival to the home, the officers located a male and female with minor injuries. A 16-year-old male, believed to be responsible for the injuries, remained inside the home. A short time later, the officers at the scene arrested the youth.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 16-year-old male from St. John’s has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and resisting arrest. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court in connection with the charges.
