(St. John’s, NL), September 7, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) regrets to inform that missing person Allison SMITH has been located deceased.

On September 5, 2017, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary received a missing person report concerning Allison SMITH. Allison SMITH was last seen leaving the area of Memorial University on September 5, 2017 at approximately 1:00am.

This afternoon, an RNC street patrol officer, working out of the Mount Pearl district was conducting additional checks of the TCH following previous checks by both RNC and RCMP. The officer located Allison SMITH’s vehicle along with her body in a wooded area off of the TCH east of the weigh scales.

The RNC Major Crime Unit and Traffic Services is working with the RCMP to determine the cause of this collision.    

The RNC wishes to offer its sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of Allison SMITH.
