RNC Lay Multiple Charges Following Assault

(St. John’s, NL), August 16, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services (OPS) laid multiple charges after responding to a report of an assault at a St. John’s business on Friday night.

On Friday, August 13, 2021, at approximately 8:25 pm, The RNC OPS responded to a report of a disturbance at a business in St. John’s city center. On arrival to the scene, officers located a man outside of the business who was believed to be involved in the event.

As a result of an investigation, a 41-year-old man from St. John’s was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and breach of court order. The man was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
