RNC Lay Charges Following Downtown Disturbance

(St. John’s, NL), November 24, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services laid charges following response to a disturbance in the downtown area of St. John’s.

On Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at approximately 2:00 am, RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a disturbance in progress at a hotel in the downtown area of St. John’s. On arrival, officers located a male on site causing damage to property inside the establishment. The male was subsequently arrested by the responding officers.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, a 19-year-old male from St. John’s was charged with property damage, causing a disturbance, resisting arrest, and breach of court order. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
