RNC Lay Charges After Armed Robbery in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), October 7, 2021 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have arrested a male in connection with an armed robbery in St. John’s last night.

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at approximately 8:45 pm, officers with the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) and Police Dog Service (PDS) responded to a report of an armed robbery which had just occurred at an establishment on The Boulevard in St. John’s. A male suspect entered with a weapon, attempting to obtain cash. After the suspect was unsuccessful, he exited the building and fled on foot.

A short time later, responding officers were able to locate the suspect in the area, placing him under arrest without incident.

As a result of the investigation in to the event, a 57-year-old male of St. John’s was charged with armed robbery and assault with a weapon. The male was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
