RNC Lay Charge After Report of Assault in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), March 22, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have charged a male after receiving a report of an assault in St. John’s

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at approximately 8:45pm, the RNC Operational Patrol Services Division (OPS) responded to a report of a disturbance in progress at a residence located in the east end of St. John’s. On arrival to the home, the officers located a female with minor injuries. It was determined that a male had left the home prior to police arrival. Officers located the male a short time later near the home, at which time the male was placed under arrest.

As a result of an investigation into the event, a 48-year-old male from St. John’s has been charged with assault. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court in connection with the charge.
