RNC Labrador West Region Advising Motorists to Use Caution at Intersection

(Labrador West, NL) – January 8, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Labrador West Region is asking motorists to use caution at:

  • The intersection of Bond Street, Grenfell Drive and the Bank of Montreal parking lot in Wabush.

This intersection contains a three-way stop and motorists are reminded that traffic on Bond Street has the right of way as there is no stop sign on Bond Street.  Motorists leaving the Bank of Montreal parking lot and motorists on Grenfell Drive have stop signs at the entrances to this intersection and must yield the right of way to motorists on Bond Street.

When approaching a three way stop motorists are reminded that the first vehicle to come to a complete stop has the right-of-way. If two vehicles arrive at the same time and are facing each other, the left-turning vehicle must yield to the oncoming vehicle. If two vehicles arrive at the same time, the vehicle on the right has the right-of way.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Labrador West Region has been actively monitoring this location and has continuously enforced the Highway Traffic Act by issuing Summary Offence Tickets for violating the signage.  The RNC have been and will be continuing to monitor this area with ongoing enforcement as it relates to any offences observed under the Highway Traffic Act.
